Day 5 Guest Reviews – I’m Your Man Blog Tour

Today we get to hear what others think of this great little book by Joanne Rawson. But if I were to sum it up in three words . . .

                                                       They love it!

Ashley from Her Nose is Stuck in a Book
Hello Fellow Reader’s,

Today I will be reviewing the newest book from the marvelous author Joanne Rawson. Joanne has done it again with her newest book, I’m Your Man, in which she brings her creative story telling using romance, comedy, and a heroine that we can all relate to in some form or another.

Here is the amazing summary taken straight from Goodreads:
“Ruth Jones loves her boyfriend Justin. He is handsome, has a killer body, and the sex is awesome. He does have one major fault though. He travels so much with work that she only gets to see him once or twice a week, and that is his reasoning for always wanting to . . . stay in. At first, she’s happy that he only wants to be with her, but over time, his habit of jibbing out at the last minute for every family occasion, work function, or any bloody occasion that involves socializing, really does her head in. All she wants, for goodness sake, is for people to get to know her boyfriend. Okay, so she wants them to see she has a hunk of a boyfriend, but is that so wrong?
When Ruth wakes up in a hotel room one morning suffering from a major hangover, she tries to piece the events of the previous night together. Feeling let down by yet another no-show by Justin at a work function, she headed to the bar and ordered a drink. The last thing she remembers is sitting next to an average-looking guy with a nice accent and large hands, and wondering just what those hands could do given half the chance. When the bathroom door opens and Mr. Average walks out, she realises that at the ripe old age of thirty-three, Ruth Jones has experienced her first one-night stand.
A one-night stand that is about to send her world into utter turmoil.”
Ruth is like every woman in this day and age, she is in a relationship where she hardly sees her boyfriend and he is always getting out of things that are important to her. When one crazy, drunk night, she has a one night stand with a complete stranger, her entire way of thinking about her relationship and her life turn upside down. Will she stay with the man that she thinks she loves or will the one night stand prove to be a better man than her boyfriend?
This story had such an effect on me in different ways. One is that I am very blessed that Joanne dedicated this book to me, which I was not expecting, but really appreciate.

The second one is the last relationship I had, I hardly saw my boyfriend at all. Then when he joined the Marines, he told me we would see each other after he got back from boot camp, which never happened. We never saw each other on the holidays, hardly ever talked on the phone when he was home, and went a year without seeing each other. I was tired of getting the run around and having my heart broke time after time, so I finally ended the relationship and am working on getting my life to where I want to be.
This story had me relating to Ruth every step of the way, except I never cheated or had a one night stand.
I’m Your Man, will pull at your heartstrings, have you laughing in parts, and relating to every bad relationship you ever had. This story carried the talent and storytelling genius that Joanne brings to her books time and time again. It will help you realize how a true relationship should be and will make you want to read it again and again. If you loved Joanne’s other books, you will not be disappointed in this one!!!
Happy Reading,
Ashley

I was born and raised in Texas and have a loving family that has always been there for me. I am an avid reader and run a blog with my sister and best friend Alexis. Our blog is “Her Nose Is In A Book”, where we have met some of the most amazing authors and have several followers. We tell the truth about any book we read, even if it is a little harsh. We became friends while working at the Disney Store and have been best friends since.  When I am not reading, I am working and spending time with my family and friends. I have an associate’s degree and want to go back to school to finish by bachelors. The best thing about having a blog for me was meeting the wonderful Joanne Rawson who has shared with me some of the best books I have ever read. I have two dogs that are treated like my family and I am currently single, lol. When Recruitment Officer Ruth, typically unlucky in love, meets Justin she thinks she has hit the jackpot. He is definitely way out of her league in the looks department and never thought he would look twice at a girl like her. He has everything she wants from a man, apart from the ability to commit! However one drunken night the stars align and she meets Danny. Desperate to convince herself that Danny is only friendship material, Ruth does all in her power to keep her friendship with Danny purely platonic, whilst being given the run around by the hot and deliciously sexy Justin. Which one should she choose? Should she follow what her heart or her head is telling her?

Once again Jo Rawson has come up trumps with I’m Your Man. It’s her attention to detail and ability to describe characters and scenarios in such an in-depth way which holds the reader’s interest and keeps us guessing as to what will happen right until the very end. I really enjoyed learning more about the characters as the book progressed. I loved reading this book and would thoroughly recommend it to others who want a good read.

Josie Neild

My dear friend, Joanne Rawson, has done it again. I have just finished reading her latest book I’m Your Man and what a delight it was. Joanne always seems to have me laughing, crying or feeling all loved up with her witty, comical and romantic story telling.

I’m Your Man is about a very likeable young lady called Ruth Jones who is totally committed and loyal to Justin, who appears to be only interested in Justin and it never enters his mind to take Ruth out to nice places for dinner or the theatre, even to meet his family and friends. Worse than that, she can’t even get him to meet her own family and friends! Ruth is beginning to feel very downhearted about her relationship with Justin and tries, without success, to get his undivided attention. The only attention he is always willing to give is between the sheets, which at least he is very good at.

Things become very intriguing when Ruth wakes up one morning with a massive hangover and finds herself in a strange hotel room with a strange guy, when she slowly but surely starts to remember, and this is where Ruth’s destiny takes a most interesting turn.

Thanks Joanne, for giving me this lovely story that I couldn’t put down by the way.

Response from Joanne:

Josie is not only a very dear friend, but she is like a second Mum. I have known Josie for ten wonderful years, although we live thousands of miles apart now we share emails nearly every day.

When I first said to Josie, I would love to write a book, she encouraged me and gave me the confidence to do it, never once doubting me.

Over the last two years since I have been writing, she has given me constant support, reading my endless copies of chapters I wrote, re-wrote and wrote again. Proof reading, offering advice and suggestions even writing a few paragraphs herself. I could never repay all the time and effort she has given me. Truly a remarkable and wonderful lady.
